HI I'M PENNY, A SURFACE PATTERN DESIGNER.
Based on the beautiful Kāpiti Coast of Aotearoa New Zealand, my passion is in creating collections for fabric, wallpaper, and home decor. My designs are available to license or adapt, and are made to bring beauty and feeling to the everyday.
From fine art to fabric
My creative journey started in fine art, music, and dance — forms of expression that taught me how to notice the little things. With a degree in Applied Visual Imaging and a passion for digital illustration, I bring a blend of traditional craft and modern process to every collection. Whether hand-drawn or digitally rendered, my patterns reflect a deep love for composition, colour, and the emotion design can evoke.
WHAT I BELIEVE IN
Long walks, layered textures, making something beautiful from something simple, seasonal colour palettes, and coffee with too much milk.
WHERE YOU’LL FIND ME
Sketchbook nearby, usually at home with my family near the sea. Often caught taking photos of leaves, patterns in light and architecture, or bits of texture on the pavement.
MY CREATIVE BACKGROUND
Bachelor’s in Applied Visual Imaging, years of practice in fine art and digital illustration, and an ongoing obsession with how design moves through fabric, paper, and space.
